Class IV Warm Laser Therapy

Experience deep tissue repair and faster recovery for pelvic pain with Sarton Pelvic Healing’s Class IV Warm Laser

What is Class IV Warm Laser Therapy?

Our Class IV laser is a type of therapeutic medical laser that delivers light energy deep into the body’s tissues to promote healing, reduce pain, and decrease inflammation. Unlike lower-level lasers, a Class IV laser penetrates more deeply and can treat larger areas more effectively. The energy it delivers stimulates your cells’ natural repair processes (a process called photobiomodulation), helping tissues recover faster without drugs, injections, or invasive procedures.Sarton Pelvic Healing is excited to be one of the few pelvic floor clinics in Southern California able to provide this advanced, effective treatment.

How It Helps

Laser therapy accelerates healing and reduces pain by stimulating your body’s own repair processes. The laser transmits gentle healing energy, called photons, which are absorbed by your cells in a photochemical effect (not heat-based, so there’s no risk of tissue damage). These photons spark a series of cellular reactions known as photobiomodulation, helping your mitochondria—the “powerhouses” of your cells—function at their strongest. The result: reduced inflammation, improved circulation, and faster recovery.

The following is a  list of positive effects of photobiomodulation (red light therapy for pelvic pain):

  • Increased leukocyte activity – Acceleration of tissue repair and decrease of pain
  • Increased neurovascularization – New vessel growth and increased oxygenation
  • Increased fibroblast production – Speeds tissue repair
  • Stabilization of cellular membrane of damaged cells – Prevents further damage of cells in the body
  • Increased tensile strength – Helps to prevent re-injury of the tissue
  • Enhancement of ATP production and synthesis – Gives cells more energy to do their specific tasks in the body
  • Decreased C-Reactive protein Neopterin and acceleration of leukocytic activity – Decreases inflammation and stimulates body’s innate immune system response to promote healing
  • Enhanced lymphocyte response with reduction of Interleukin 1 (IL-1) – Decreases inflammation
  • Enhanced superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels – Increases antioxidative mechanisms in the cell
  • Stimulation of vasodilation with increased angiogenesis – Stimulates new blood vessels for improved blood flow to tissues

What to Expect

Your session is simple, gentle, and comfortable. While you rest in a relaxed position, your therapist will place the handheld Class IV laser device over the area being treated. The laser delivers a soothing, warm light that penetrates deeply into your tissues. Most patients describe the sensation as a gentle warming or calming feeling.

Each treatment typically lasts 5–15 minutes, depending on the size of the area being addressed. There’s no downtime afterward—you can resume your normal daily activities right away. Many patients notice relief after just a few sessions, with the best results occurring as treatments build on one another over time.

Typical duration and frequency – 6 sessions of laser integrated into your treatment plan is typically needed for permanent changes to occur on the cellular level

Sensations and safety considerations – Gentle warmth is felt as the laser is delivered to targeted tissues on the body. In order to protect your eyes, you will be required to wear protective glasses that prevents the red light from directly hitting your eyes.
