Fertility

Supporting your fertility journey with compassionate, holistic pelvic floor care — because every part of your body deserves to be ready for new life.

What is Fertility?

Fertility is the body’s ability to conceive and carry a pregnancy, and it’s influenced by the health and harmony of many interconnected systems — hormonal, structural, emotional, and physical. From a pelvic health perspective, muscle tightness, fascial restrictions, scar tissue, or decreased blood flow in the pelvis and abdomen can create barriers to conception.

At Sarton Pelvic Healing, we approach fertility as part of a larger, collaborative team, working alongside your other fertility specialists. Our role is to help restore mobility, balance, and circulation in the pelvic and abdominal region so that your body can function in its optimal state for conception.

How Does It Feel?

  • Pelvic or lower abdominal tightness or discomfort

  • Feeling of “pulling” or “tugging” in the lower abdomen or pelvis

HOPE

What Causes It?

Fertility challenges can have many contributing factors, and often there’s more than one at play. From a pelvic health perspective, some common influences include:

  • Pelvic floor muscle overactivity or spasm
  • Abdominal wall tension affecting blood and lymph flow
  • Myofascial restrictions in the pelvis or abdomen
  • Adhesions from endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, or surgery
  • Scar tissue that restricts organ mobility
  • Poor coordination between deep core and pelvic floor muscles
  • Postural imbalances impacting pelvic alignment and circulation

While we address these physical factors, we work closely with your broader fertility care team — including reproductive endocrinologists, acupuncturists, nutritionists, and mental health providers — for a comprehensive, whole-body approach.

How We Identify the Root Cause

Your evaluation begins with a detailed conversation about your health history, reproductive goals, and any past injuries or surgeries. We perform a comprehensive physical assessment, which may include:

  • External and internal pelvic floor muscle evaluation
  • Abdominal palpation to assess fascial mobility, scar tissue, and organ movement
  • Postural and breathing pattern assessment
  • Screening for contributing musculoskeletal restrictions in the hips, spine, and ribcage

We will communicate with your other providers to coordinate care, ensuring our treatment complements your fertility plan. Together, we create a roadmap that addresses physical restrictions while supporting your overall wellness.
